World Suicide Prevention Day

September 10 – World Suicide Prevention Day. This date has been celebrated since 2003 at the initiative of the International Association for Suicide Prevention. The event is actively supported by the World Health Organization and sponsored by the United Nations.

The main goal is to draw the attention of society and the authorities to this urgent problem. The director of WHO notes that the tragedy can be prevented in advance. He calls on the entire world community to introduce effective strategies to prevent damage to their lives into health programs and educational projects. Currently, such programs operate in only 38 of the 183 countries that are members of the World Health Organization.
