World Spine Day

Every year since 2008, October 16 is World Spine Day. The initiator of this day was the World Federation of Chiropractic. The spine is one of the most important structures of the body, its pillar and support, which perform a number of important functions: protective (for the spinal cord), support and movement.

The purpose of this day is to spread information about problems and diseases of the spine, because back pain can haunt anyone: a child, men or women, young and old. Preventing diseases and maintaining a healthy spine is a necessity.

  • According to WHO statistics, pathologies of the musculoskeletal system are the fourth leading cause of death or disability after oncology, diseases of the heart and blood vessels, and diabetes.

Specialists in the field of health care predict an increase in the number of cases of osteochondrosis in the near future, which indicates the general aging of the population. According to research, back pain is felt by every fifth inhabitant of the planet, while the cause of this is osteochondrosis in almost 90% of cases.
