International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
The world celebrates March 25 every year International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The event was launched by the United Nations on December 17, 2007.

Over 400 long years of transatlantic trade, about 30 million people were affected.
Currently, millions of people are also victims of the slave trade each year, ensnared through deception or violent methods. It is important to pay attention to this problem, to recognize its relevance and to fight for the eradication of such a shameful phenomenon as slavery.
