Every year on April 4 we celebrate an important event – International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. The holiday was initiated by the United Nations resolution of December 8, 2005.

The purpose of such an event is to draw humanity’s attention to the mine threat problem, to prevent the use of mines and similar explosive devices by states, to improve public awareness of the threat of explosive devices and to find methods of their destruction on the territory of states.

Until April 4, they organize training on mine safety, demonstrate the destruction of explosive objects, show samples of mines to the civilian population, etc.
