International croupier’s day

International croupier’s day is celebrated annually on December 26. The need for a new profession arose with the appearance of the first gambling houses, which appeared more than 300 years ago.

Employees of gaming houses and casinos who monitored the game, issued winnings or collected bets were called croupiers.

Depending on the functional duties, there are several specializations in the profession: chipper (sorts cards and chips), dealer (explains the rules and monitors their implementation, conducts the game), inspector (acts as an arbiter in controversial situations, monitors staff and order among visitors institution). Employees of gambling establishments have universal qualifications and can perform all these functions during the day.

The job of a croupier is suitable for agile, intelligent, balanced young people who can (due to their age) spend a lot of time on their feet. Working in a casino hardens and equips young workers with useful skills that help in later life and careers.
