World Table Tennis Day

Every year on April 6, a young sports holiday is celebrated – World Table Tennis Day. The event was created by the International Table Tennis Federation in 2015. Then this day was jointly celebrated by more than 50 countries. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the Day of Sports for Development and Peace.

By the way, until 1936, table tennis was called ping-pong. In 1988, table tennis acquired the status of an Olympic sport. The popularity of table tennis is explained by its accessibility, because it does not require special sports training and is not very tiring compared to other sports. England is considered the homeland of sports.

Table tennis day aims to spread this type of sport, attract people to an active lifestyle and maintain a connection between fans of table tennis.
