World Anthropology Day

It is celebrated every year on the third Thursday of February World Anthropology Day.

The American Anthropological Association (AAA) in 2015 initiated the celebration of National Anthropology Day. Within a year, the holiday changed its name to International Day, because this science is important for all mankind. The study of the biological nature and origin of man, his physical features that arose as a result of development in different geographical conditions, helps to better understand the modern world. The goal of anthropologists is to study people, their diversity, identity, societies and behavior.

Anthropology is culture, biology, and archeology. The combination of this knowledge provides an understanding of how people’s behavior affects the social and cultural environment.

IN International Day of Anthropology institutes, departments and specialists engaged in anthropological research organize thematic events. They introduce society to anthropology and encourage future specialists with research and analytical skills. In many countries of the world there are scientific institutions, special educational programs and courses devoted to anthropology.
