February 25 every year the world celebrates Revolver’s birthdaybecause it was on this day in 1836 that the 45-caliber six-shot silicon revolver was patented.

Samuel Colt is sometimes mistakenly considered the inventor of the revolver. In fact, the idea belongs to the American John Pearson, who sold it to Colt.

There is a version of the creation of the revolver: the mechanism of the rudder on the ship prompted the inventor to create a wooden sample, which is still preserved.

Revolver is a small-arms weapon designed for shooting at a distance of up to 100 meters. A revolver is considered more reliable than a self-loading pistol, in addition, it can be easily used with one hand (in a pistol, the bolt is switched with the other hand) and in case of a misfire, immediately fire a second time.

Among the disadvantages of such a weapon as a revolver, one can highlight the limited number of rounds in the drum, low rate of fire, massive dimensions and the possibility of bullet deformation.
