International Day of Volunteer Managers

Every year on November 5, different countries celebrate the International Day of Volunteer Managers. The holiday was officially approved and celebrated for the first time in 1999. The initiator of the introduction of the professional day was the American Nan Hawthorne, who helped to create a committee to study the expediency of celebrating the International Day of Volunteer Managers on a global scale.

Until 2005, the holiday coincided with the International Volunteer Day in December. Then the event was celebrated on November 1, 2006, and later it was moved to November 5. The purpose of creating a professional holiday is to draw the attention of the world society to the necessity and importance of the work of volunteer managers.
