International Day of people who have overcome alcoholism
The International Day of Acknowledgment of Former Alcoholics takes place annually on February 20. The people used to call the celebration more simply – Day of the alcoholic. But this name is not correct, because on the contrary, the celebration is connected with the fight against the consumption of alcoholic beverages. It is believed that the date of February 20 was not chosen by chance. On this day, a faceted glass was invented, which, according to tradition, is often used to pour alcohol.
The celebration is dedicated to all people who were able to overcome their addiction and continue to live a normal life without the constant need to consume alcoholic beverages. On this day, people who have overcome alcoholism share their stories with everyone and conduct trainings and lectures. Such dates are created so that people remember that there is always an opportunity to correct their life, which, it would seem, is already at the bottom.
