An original and fun holiday is held every year on the first Saturday of February – Ice cream day for breakfast.

This holiday appeared in America in the 1960s. It was invented by Florence Rappaport, a resident of Rochester and the mother of 6 children. One frosty morning, Florence’s younger children complained that it was too cold to walk outside. The mother offered them to eat ice cream for breakfast to cheer them up. The following year, such a breakfast was repeated and became a tradition. Thanks to Florence’s children and grandchildren, the tradition spread throughout the United States, and later appeared in Germany, China, Israel, and some African countries.

Spring is still far away, but in order not to sink into winter depression, do something unexpected, adventurous and fun. Ice cream day for breakfast – a good opportunity. The founder of the holiday claims that on this day you must eat ice cream for breakfast and treat your friends and relatives to it.
