Professional holiday – Day of the machine builder is celebrated in Ukraine in accordance with the presidential decree of 09/08/1993 No. 361/93 on the fourth Sunday of September.

Employees of the machine-building and instrument-making industries make a significant contribution to the technical development of the industry, ensure smooth production of machines and components, devices and tools. The field of mechanical engineering is divided into many directions, which play an important role in the economic sector of Ukraine. These are the aerospace industry, electronics, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding and locomotive factories, etc.

More than 3,000 enterprises and organizations are part of this structure, perform work on the construction of machine tools, engage in metalworking and other types of machine-building activities. They provide work for about a million people.
