On September 4, 1992, by order of the State Customs Committee of Ukraine, the first legal document on the activities of Ukrainian customs brokers was approved. On May 28, 2009, the State Customs Service received a letter of request from the Association of Brokerage Enterprises to support the initiative to establish September 4 Day of customs brokers. Since then, every year this date is considered a professional holiday for specialists of customs brokerage enterprises of Ukraine.

Persons who provide the services of customs brokers play an important role in the implementation of foreign economic activities and the establishment of trade relations between domestic enterprises and foreign companies. They significantly simplify the work of subjects involved in the transportation of goods across the border, fully accompanying the process of customs clearance of goods.

The extraordinary responsibility assigned to the customs brokerage activity requires high qualifications and knowledge both in the customs field and in many other sciences.
