World Day Against Sexual Exploitation

On March 4 every year, the whole planet celebrates an important holiday – World Day Against Sexual Exploitation. The event was started by the non-governmental organization GIPF in 2009.

About 3 million children suffer from sexual exploitation, and a large number of women engage in prostitution and fall into sexual slavery. According to the International Labor Organization, approximately one million people a year are victims of sex trafficking.

Worldwide day against sexual exploitation aims to draw society’s attention to the problem of sexual exploitation and strengthen the protection of abused children and women.
