Commonwealth of Nations Day

Every year, 54 countries celebrate the second Monday of March Commonwealth of Nations Day.

Commonwealth of Nations is an international intergovernmental organization representing an association of sovereign states that in the past belonged to the British Empire. The Statute of Westminster, i.e. a normative legal document of the Commonwealth, was issued on 11 December 1931.

In 2012, the organization accepted Commonwealth Charter, which describes 16 main values ​​and obligations of member states. The commonwealth emphasizes fair business, human rights, democracy, social equality, freedom, etc.


The population of the countries included in the organization is almost 2.5 billion.

Annually to Commonwealth of Nations Day member states hold conferences to maintain communication between themselves and resolve possible conflicts.
