Every year on June 20 we celebrate the holiday of wireless technologies – World Wi-Fi Day. The event was launched by the Wireless Broadband Alliance.

Why Wi-Fi so popular?

Development of technology for transmitting information by radio channel (Wi-Fi) started in the 1990s. The first devices were released in 2000. Wireless Internet connection has gained popularity because it is convenient (no need for cables), allows several people to use it at the same time, provides access to the network in any country and in places where there is no cellular connection, unlike mobile Internet.

The purpose of World Wi-Fi Day

purpose World Wi-Fi Day is drawing public attention to solving the problem of the lack of wireless high-speed connection in various countries (about 4 billion people on the planet do not have access to the Internet), eradicating digital inequality, involvement in the development of technologies.
