World Paperless Day
On November 6, an annual holiday takes place – World Paperless Day. World No Paper Day was created on the initiative of the non-profit organization “Association for Information and Image Management”. AIIM initially introduced the holiday date on the fourth Thursday of November. But recently, a fixed Paperless Day was established – November 6.
The organizers recommend the population and enterprises of the countries to abandon the use of paper at least for one day. Members of the Association are concerned about the fact that humanity wastes this resource uneconomically at work and for personal purposes. The purpose of the celebration is to promote the reduction of paper consumption throughout the world.
- According to scientific studies, on average, one office worker wastes about 40 sheets per day. It is irrational and uneconomical. Almost half of the paper volume is wasted, because most business processes have been transferred to electronic format.
The AIIM Association calls on the world community to pay attention to the existing problem and participate in celebrations to see the benefits of a paperless office.
