World Flight Attendant Day

Every year on July 12 we celebrate a professional holiday – World Flight Attendant Day.

World Flight Attendant Day in history

The first flight attendants (stewards) appeared in Germany in 1928. Their main task was to provide service to passengers during flights. In 1930, the USA decided to involve women in such activities, thus making PR for airlines. In addition, flight attendants weigh less than flight attendants, which gives them an advantage.

Ellen Church

The first flight attendant of the fair sex is considered to be Ellen Church, who was a nurse and even knew how to fly an airplane. Her flight took place on May 15, 1930.

Purpose of Flight Attendant Day

Flight Attendant Day aims to draw the attention of humanity to this profession, to thank flight attendants and stewards for their difficult and responsible work. After all, thanks to the efforts of flight attendants, our air travel is comfortable and safe.
