World Day Against Child Labour
An important event is celebrated every year on June 12 – World Day Against Child Labour. The idea of creating this day belongs to the International Labor Organization, which put forward a corresponding proposal in 1997. Since 2002, the event has been celebrated under the auspices of the United Nations.
The purpose of World Day Against Child Labour
Day against child labor aims to draw the attention of humanity to this problem, to promote the spread of the idea of safe work activities and the eradication of child labor.
More than 215 million minors on the planet (from 5 to 14 years old) work, about half of them work in terrible conditions and in full employment, which poses a great threat to the development of the child’s organism and has a negative impact on the future of the child.
What age is considered an adult in Ukraine?
We would like to remind you that a person under the age of 18 is considered a minor, a teenager between the ages of 14 and 17 is allowed to work under certain conditions prescribed by the legislation of Ukraine.
- Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to be exploited for labor under any circumstances.
