World Chagas Disease Day

A very young and important holiday is celebrated every year on April 14 – World Chagas Disease Day (World Chagas Disease Day). The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the day of diagnosis of this disease by the Brazilian doctor Carlos Ribeira Justiniano Chagas in 1909. The event was launched only on May 24, 2019.

World Chagas Disease Day aims to draw the attention of humanity to the importance of fighting the disease, to increase awareness of the dangers of the disease and the problems of people with such a diagnosis.

Chagas disease is a parasitic tropical disease that is often faced by the poor population. A feature of the disease is its asymptomatic development. Often the carriers of parasites are bedbugs, infection is also possible through the consumption of contaminated food, through blood, from mother to child, etc.
