International French Language Day
On March 29 every year, a young holiday is celebrated – International French Language Day. The event was launched by the United Nations in 2010. The date of the celebration was chosen in honor of the International Day of Francophonie, which appeared in 1970.
French has been one of the official working languages of the UN since 1946. In addition, French is spread in a large number of countries and organizations, it is the second most popular language. About 250 million people in the world speak French (more than 50 countries).
