International Accounting Day
Every year on November 10, the world celebrates International Accounting Day. The date of the celebration is dedicated to the day of publication of the book “All about Arithmetic, Geometry and Proportions” by Luca Pacioli, which contains a lot of information about accounting. Because of this, Pacoli is considered the father of accounting. Accountant’s Day was started in 1972 as Accounting Career Day, but already in 1976 the name was changed to a more modern one. It is known that accounting is an ancient profession that has existed for about 6 thousand years, the first representatives of the profession were in ancient Egypt.
It should be remembered that the International Accounting Day is not celebrated in Ukraine. The reason is the existence of our own national Accountant’s Day, which is celebrated on July 16. But no one forbids Ukrainian specialists to celebrate professional day twice a year.
