Gramophone’s birthday

On September 26, fans of early music celebrate Gramophone’s birthday. In 1877, the American scientist Thomas Edison invented a device capable of recording sound on a record – the phonograph. In the same year, on September 26, the famous scientist Emil Berliner patented his invention – the gramophone.

This music device quickly gained popularity among music lovers. It reproduced pure sound, having a simple working mechanism. After all, an ordinary gramophone needle moving along the record accurately reproduced all vibrational oscillations.

Although the gramophone has been replaced by more modern audio playback devices, millions of people celebrate this holiday with joy. Music lovers gather together and listen to the best songs of the past.
