It is celebrated on the last Sunday of June every year since 2008 Day of youth and children’s public organizations of Ukraine. It was introduced by the decree of the head of state in order to regulate and protect the activities of such associations.

The key to successful state development is moral education in youth, taking into account their interests. The modern development of the youth and children’s movement is characterized by voluntary participation in the organization. The most influential and numerous Ukrainian associations that gather young people are currently the National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine (NOSU), founded in 2007, the Union of Pioneer Organizations of Ukraine, and the Plast Scouting Organization. Small groups and unions are also very active, including environmental, tourist and religious youth organizations, the Association of Youth Search Unions.
