Day of food industry workers
Ukrainian food industry workers have their own professional holiday. Every year, the third Sunday of October is marked by the Day of Food Industry Workers. This holiday arose in 1966, in Ukraine it was approved by the August decree of the head of state from 1995.
Supplying the population of any country with food is impossible without enterprises of the processing industry and the food industry. Employees of this field constantly develop new types of goods, expand the selection, work on improving quality, thereby contributing to the economic development of the country and the well-being of the population. In Ukraine, the food industry is represented by more than 40 different branches, as well as thousands of enterprises of different forms of ownership and different numbers of employees. They produce approximately 20% of the total volume of industrial production.
The purpose of this holiday is to pay tribute to true professionals in their field: technologists, cooks, laboratory technicians, craftsmen.
