Country music day

July 4 is traditionally celebrated A day of country music. This genre originated in the 1920s in the southeastern United States, in Atlanta, Georgia. Country music is simple harmonic motifs accompanied by musical instruments – guitar, fiddle, banjo and harmonica.

The history of Country Music Day

Celebrate Country Music Day began in 1950, when the Association of Country Music DJs initiated the celebration of this day in honor of singer-songwriter James Charles Rogers. He is known to many as Jimmy Rogers – the “father of country music”.

Another date for celebrating International Country Music Day is September 17. It was on this day in 1923 that Hank Williams was born – one of the most famous and influential American performers of country music of the 20th century. Celebrating International Country Music Day began in 2003. The main purpose of the holiday was the meeting of performers and fans of the country music genre.
