African Women’s Day
The world celebrates July 31 every year African Women’s Day. The decision to start such an event was made thanks to the Pan-African Women’s Conference in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) in 1962.
The purpose of introducing African Women’s Day
The purpose of the day is to draw public attention to African women; helping African women to overcome the problems of oppression of rights and discrimination; commemorating women from Africa who courageously survived slavery and prejudice; emphasis on the importance of respect for a person, regardless of his race.
