World Religion Day
It is held on the third Sunday of January World Religion Day. The central goal of the celebration is to increase public awareness of the culture of different peoples, as well as a call to people to be more loyal and tolerant of people of other faiths.
The peoples who inhabit the Earth differ in their worldviews and beliefs, they have different beliefs, customs, traditions and rites. The most widespread religions with the largest number of followers are Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Despite the differences, the basic values and principles are the same in every religion.
Founded Religion Day followers of Bahaism – an Iranian teaching based on the unity of God and peoples. In this religion, Christ, Mohammed, Krishna, Zarathustra and other famous historical or mythical figures are glorified. It was the Baha’i National Spiritual Assembly in the United States in 1949 that proclaimed World Religion Day to spread the philosophy of religion as a force that seeks commonality rather than division.
