World Rainforest Day

On June 22 every year, a young but important environmental event is celebrated – World Rainforest Day. This date was initiated by the Rainforest Partnership in 2017.

Importance of tropical forests

Tropical forest – an integral part of nature, because it is the home of almost half of the plants and animals of the earth’s layer. It goes without saying that the rainforest provides us with water, absorbs carbon dioxide and keeps the climate in a normal state.

The purpose of World Rainforest Day

World Rainforest Day aims to draw people’s attention to the problem of the disappearance of tropical forests, raise awareness about it, and involve them in preserving and protecting forests from deforestation.

  • Over the past 40 years, the planet has lost about a billion hectares of tropical forest.
