World Contraception Day organized on the initiative of international institutions dealing with the reproductive health of men and women. It is celebrated annually on September 26, starting from 2007. The purpose of the holiday is to increase the information awareness of the population regarding the types of contraception.

The main slogan of the mass event is aimed at reducing the number of unplanned pregnancies and notes that contraception is, first of all, the individual responsibility of each person. Attention is focused on the problems of correct sexual education of the younger generation.

The organizers arrange educational campaigns in educational institutions, the main age category is youth aged 15-25. In this period, clarification of information about sexual behavior is especially necessary. Charitable organizations organize educational campaigns on the streets of cities, distribute free contraceptives, calling for thoughtful pregnancy planning.
