World Animal Sterilization Day
The last Tuesday of February is celebrated every year World Animal Sterilization Day.
Animal sterilization day appeared in 1995 in the USA, initiated by singer and actress Doris Day. Later, in 2006, the event went beyond the borders of one country and became worldwide.
First of all, sterilization of our smaller brothers helps to overcome the problem of homelessness: sterilized animals stop breeding and become less aggressive. That is why World Animal Sterilization Day should draw the attention of humanity to the issue of sterilization of the homeless.
Statistics for domestic cats and dogs show that sterilized animals live much longer and generally suffer less from health problems.
