VCR Day
June 7 is celebrated VCR Day. The device was first invented in 1956 and was very popular since then, until it was displaced from the market by computers and smartphones. Initially, the device was supposed to be used for professional purposes – for example, recording movies or TV shows. The first VCRs for home use began to be sold in 1969, when the size of the device could be reduced to such a size that they could easily fit in a small living room.
Tape recorders made a huge contribution to the development of television art and the popularization of cinema among the population. Since the invention of the VCR, everyone has had the opportunity to watch a movie they liked many times, as well as record a TV show to watch later. There are now approximately 10 billion videotapes of your favorite movies, shows, and family vacations in the world. The service of converting magnetic records into a digital format, in which they can be stored forever, has become popular.
