Trinity Memorial Father’s Saturday
Every year on the forty-ninth day after Easter and before the Holy Trinity (one of the most important Christian holidays), the Orthodox Church celebrates Trinity Memorial Father’s Saturday, which belongs to the number of Ecumenical Saturdays. In 2022, the date of the celebration falls on June 11.
Before Trinity Memorial Saturday, on Friday evening, there is a special service called parastas. After that, believers serve a memorial service for the deceased blood relatives, ask the Lord to have mercy on them. On Trinity Memorial Saturday, people bring alms and notes with the names of deceased Orthodox Christians to the church.
