Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day
Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day founded in 2013 and celebrated worldwide every year on February 2. The initiator of the event was an international organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with rheumatoid diseases.
The event was introduced with the aim of increasing the awareness of the world community about the insidious disease, which is better diagnosed in the early stages in order to prevent its complications and to find an effective way to alleviate its course.
The inflammatory process of an incurable disease affects the connective tissues of the body, which leads to the destruction of joints and damage to internal organs. Over time, patients experience a limitation in movement, which in most cases leads to a loss of working capacity.
- In the world rheumatoid arthritis more than 20 million people of various age groups suffer from it, and the disease most often affects people aged 30-50. A defect in the immune system, infections, stress, physical exertion and bad habits can be the causes of a serious disease.
Timely diagnosis of the disease and the use of effective treatment methods slow down its progression and reduce the risk of developing complications, which ensures a person’s normal life.
