International Widows Day

Every year on June 23, the world celebrates an important event – International Widows Day. This date was initiated by the United Nations on December 21, 2010.

The purpose of International Widows’ Day

the purpose International Widows’ Day is to draw humanity’s attention to the problems faced by widows and their children (discrimination, lack of finances, deprivation of a place in society, lack of rights, etc.), to raise awareness of these problems and to promote the empowerment of widows, giving them rights and freedoms.
