International Pizza Day

International Pizza Day is celebrated every year on February 9. Every year on this day, connoisseurs celebrate the holiday of Italian food.

The classic Margherita was created by the Italian Raffaelle Esposito about 200 years ago, and prototypes of pizza existed even in the ancient world. For example, in Ancient Greece, and later in Rome, flat bread was prepared with olives, herbs and oil. And the Persian soldiers baked cakes with spices, dates and cheese on their own shields.

The greatest popularity pizza received after the end of the Second World War. Residents of each country add something different to this dish, but it is Italian pizza that has more than 1,000 recipes for a favorite dish around the world.
