July 7 in our country is celebrated by specialists in the field of nature reserves – Day of the Nature Conservation Worker. This day was established by the decree of the head of state in 2009. The date was determined not by chance, because this day also celebrates the holiday of Ivan Kupala, which is associated with mysteries, miracles and forces of nature.

The purpose of creating the Day of the Nature Conservation Worker

The day was created in order to support the important field of environmental protection, as well as to celebrate the difficult, responsible work of employees and their contribution to the protection of nature. Many natural complexes and biological species have been preserved by the actions and aspirations of specialists in this field, and the destruction of many natural regions has been stopped.

• If we talk about numbers, then these are more than 8,000 zones and objects that occupy an area of ​​about 4 million hectares. This is approximately 6.5% of the country’s territory. Currently, the nature protection fund of Ukraine includes 7,721 natural and 675 artificial objects.
