World Keratoconus Day

World Keratoconus Day is celebrated on November 10 in various countries. This is a complex non-inflammatory disease of the organs of vision, in which the cornea of the eye acquires a conical shape instead of a spherical one.

World Keratoconus Day is sponsored by the National Keratoconus Foundation, the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute Education Program, and the University of California, Irvine. The purpose of the events of this day is to increase the awareness of humanity about the existing problem of keratoconus (KS), to educate and protect patients with this disease, as well as to promote the need to regularly carry out diagnostics of the organs of vision.

The initiative of holding the holiday is aimed at uniting people suffering from keratoconus and allowing them to communicate, engage in their favorite activities, and not lose self-confidence. On this day, holiday participants are invited to take selfies and share photos with other members of the CS community, wear a green-yellow ribbon as a symbol of awareness of vision problems, subscribe to news, and participate in discussions.
