Day of sustainable gastronomy

Every year on June 18, the world celebrates a young but important holiday – Day of sustainable gastronomy. The event was launched by the United Nations on December 21, 2016.

The purpose of the Day of Sustainable Gastronomy

Day of sustainable gastronomy aims to draw humanity’s attention to the importance of sustainable gastronomy, emphasize the contribution of sustainable gastronomy to sustainable global development by improving food security, the flourishing of agriculture and production, raising the level of nutrition, etc.

Gastronomy is part of the self-expression of the culture of each nation, where its soul and nature are reflected.
