December 23 is celebrated Day of Ukrainian servicemen of operational control of all levels. The professional holiday also has a name Day of staff specialties and special forces troops. The purpose of this day is to draw attention to invisible at first glance structures that ensure uninterrupted and reliable communication, both in peacetime and in wartime. Also, with the help of telecommunication systems, a special connection is maintained between officials of all levels of government, from representatives of the higher state administration to local bodies.

The Main Department of Special Communications was formed in 1992. Now it is subordinated to the Security Service of Ukraine. After all, timely receipt of necessary and verified information and quick response to events by the authorities, human rights defenders and the military are the key to security in Ukraine.
