Apple Day
The international community celebrates January 6 every year Apple Day. This day was established so that everyone could remember or learn about the benefits of these fruits and their importance for the human body.
Previously, the celebration was dedicated to the oldest apple tree. It is not known for sure which tree became the object of the holiday (either the Brumley apple tree or the Grandfer apple tree, they are both considered the oldest and have been growing for 200 years). Later, they began to respect the apple tree itself and apples. This day in the West is also called “Give the doctor a day off”. All because of the benefits contained in the fruits of this tree.
Apple – a deciduous tree that comes from the rose family. Its ancestor is considered to be a wild Sievers apple tree, which still grows in nature. The homeland of the apple tree is Central Asia, from where it was brought to Europe, and later European colonists brought the trees to North America. The apple tree is considered to be the oldest cultivated tree.
On this day, it is customary to prepare dishes from apples, share recipes, eat them in any form or drink apple juice or cider. The best way to celebrate the holiday is to plant an apple tree yourself or spread the word about it to involve as many friends as possible in planting.
