Eid-al-Fitr is vastly important Islamic day, which always marks the long-awaited conclusion of the Ramadan, or, in other words, finally ends the holy month of fasting. This substantial month, also known as sawm, is one of the five main basises of Islamic faith. Thus, Eid-al-Fitr is being exceedingly exclusive day during the sacred month of Shawwal, because every Muslim is allowed to not to be fasting only thereat.
So, when is Eid-al-Fitr in 2017? Frankly speaking, it’s important to say that exact days of Shawwal vary notably depending on locality due to the very principle of setting Lunar Hinji months. Local religious authorities observe the phases of moon and only then set the date according to them. And, therefore, to understand what day Eid-al-Fitr 2017 will be, we need to wait patiently for official announcing. But, we can say for sure that this day will mostly be observed on June 26th this year.
Traditions of Eid
This holy feast can be celebrated for varied periods of time from mere one to whole three days. Those days are period of pervasive forgiveness and tolerance. In other words, those are the days when Muslims are strongly encouraged to forget or simply let go any differences and conflicts, which are happened during current year. They wake up very early in the morning, even before the sunrise, get into their best available clothes (preferably new), clean themselves carefully and offer their mandatory morning prayers. Then they acknowledge their fast break with some sweet delicious breakfast and attend salaat (which is a special Eid prayer).
Those who respect traditions of Eid-al-Fitr must follow some obligatory rules, such as those:
- Every man or women must show happiness in every possible way.
- Also, they must put their money to a good use, or simply spend them on charity.
- They attend to Fajr prayer at the local Masjid.
- When Muslims go to perform Eid praise, they must walk by foot.
As was already said, charity is clearly indispensable part of the hallow feast. It’s strictly obligatory and can’t be avoided without disappointing and angering the Lord Allah. Consider giving money to impecunious before Eid prayer as an indispensable part of holy ritual.
When attending to an Eid, try to pick different routes to and from the prayer. Also, keep in mind that not only men are encouraged to participate in Salaat, but women too. This helps bring people of any gender together.

Eidgah as a part of Eid prayer

Then the sermon takes place. There, attendance is non-obligatory and absolutely optional, during this ceremony Muslims are being instructed about zakat and other important related rituals. After the sermon starts pleading for propitiousness, mercy and favor of the inimitable Lord of Lords Allah.
