Day of workers of local industry celebrated in Ukraine every year on the first Sunday of June. This day is dedicated to all workers who give strength and health for the well-being of Ukrainians.

As a branch of the economy, local industry has existed since 1934. It gradually developed, acquiring great importance for the country. Today, more than 250 small enterprises work in Ukraine, whose workers manufacture products for the country’s domestic market. These are goods of mass demand, economic consumption and household use. The holiday was approved at the official level in accordance with the Presidential Decree of August 20, 2002.

Celebration of the Day of Workers of Local Industry

The celebration unites more than 50,000 Ukrainian workers of small industrial enterprises of the country. It is they who make dishes, toys, tools, souvenirs, building materials and many other products in various categories of the assortment, which includes more than 15,000 items, every day. In various cities of the country, the organization of the holiday is usually organized by local self-government bodies together with collectives of industrial enterprises.
