World Hypnosis Day

World Hypnosis Day began to celebrate January 4 in 2006. It was timed to the day of the death of the Irish doctor Jack Gibson, who devoted his work to the treatment of psychosomatic disorders with the help of hypnosis.

The purpose of this holiday was to convey reliable information about an unusual method of treatment, which gained stupid fame thanks to Hollywood cinema. Films often depicted people who, under hypnosis, were capable of uncharacteristic actions or even crimes. According to the conclusions of the medical community, the medical technique of hypnosis has nothing to do with cinema.

In trance, the patient’s consciousness is open due to maximum concentration of attention. In this state, a person gets rid of unnecessary thoughts, concentrating on the most important. She can remember such things that she seems not to have noticed in her usual state. Being under by hypnosispatients perform actions subconsciously, and some are able to get rid of fears and do things that they would not be able to do in a normal state.

This technique has long been used in various nations. Shamans entered a trance to communicate with spirits. Healers used hypnosis for rituals and healing.
