World Heart Week
World Heart Week lasts for seven days, from Tuesday of the first full week of June. The initiator of its introduction in 2002 was the Arrhythmia Alliance. It brings together doctors, charities, politicians and people suffering from diseases of the heart and vascular system. The goal of the Alliance is to introduce innovations in the field of treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
Causes of heart rhythm disorders
Heart rhythm is a set of processes that occur in the body during one contraction of the heart. For an adult, its normal frequency ranges from 60 to 90 beats per minute. For children, this indicator is increased and reaches 140. Violation of the frequency and sequence of heart contractions is called arrhythmia. The main cause of the disease is an incorrect lifestyle. According to statistics, only 5% of people consult a doctor in time when problems arise. Holding the World Heart Rhythm Week is designed to change people’s attitude to their own health, encouraging them to give up bad habits.
Purpose of World Heart Week
Within World heart rhythm week activists tell people why it is important to be able to measure the pulse and to do it regularly. This information allows you to avoid a stroke caused by atrial fibrillation.
