Save the Elephant Day

Every year on April 16, the world celebrates an important holiday – Save the Elephant Day (Save The Elephant Day). The event was started by the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation in partnership with Patricia Sims in 2012.

the purpose Elephant Rescue Day is to draw public attention to and raise awareness of human-caused elephant problems: habitat loss and the sale of ivory.

Elephant – the largest land animal, lives in Asia and Africa. The life expectancy of these wild animals varies from 48 to 80 years, the body weight can reach 6 thousand kilograms, and the length is 6 and a half thousand centimeters. The elephant symbolizes intelligence, wisdom, strength, nobility, greatness, etc. Animals are characterized by a good memory, the ability to walk for a long time, emotionality.


Until April 16, various thematic events aimed at disseminating information about threats to animals and overcoming these threats are being organized.
