Memorial Day of Saint Macarius the Great (Egyptian)

The saint was a follower of Anthony the Great. Because of his spiritual wisdom, Macarius is also called the Great. Monk Macarius led a very humble and ascetic lifestyle: he ate only once a week, slept and drank less than his body needed. For this, the monk received a great gift from God: the resurrection of the dead and the healing of sick people. It was said about Macarius the Great of Egypt that his mercy was so great that it covered all sins.
