Memorial Day of Reverend Feodor the Studite
November 24 is the day of memory of Reverend Feodor Studit. This saint devoted his whole life to the service of the Christian faith, despite the exile and torture to which he was repeatedly subjected by cruel rulers.
Feodor Sudit was born in 758 in a rich family. Before marrying and beginning the monastic life, he received a comprehensive education in Constantinople.
Having gone to the monastery in Sakkudian, the man continued to carefully study the Holy Scriptures, and soon he was appointed abbot. Soon he exposed the criminal actions of Tsar Constantine, who sent his legitimate wife to a monastery in order to marry his relative. For this, Theodora was imprisoned, subjected to cruel torture and exiled to the city of Thessaloniki.
After the death of Konstantin Feodor, he was released, after which the Studio Monastery was placed under his control. But subsequent rulers continued to persecute him, so the saint was repeatedly tortured and exiled.
Only in 820 was he allowed to return to Constantinople. But Saint Theodore, together with several disciples, settled in a secluded place on Cape Akrit, where he died in 826.
