International Day of Slowness

Every year on June 21, the world celebrates an unofficial and informal holiday – International Slow or Leisure Day. The event was started by a public figure named Clemence Boucher in 2001.

The purpose of International Leisure Day

International Day of Leisure aims to draw humanity’s attention to the philosophy of slow movement; emphasizing the importance of implementing so-called slow days in order to really take a break from the modern frenetic rhythm of life and simply enjoy life.

How to leisurely spend the International Day of Slowness?

June 21 is a good opportunity to think about slowing down. Take a leisurely walk in nature, disconnect from information sources, read a book, meet with friends, etc. Try to feel the reality and enjoy it.
