Humane Society Day

On November 22, the world celebrates Humane Society Day. The event was initiated by the American non-profit organization «Humane Society of the United States» (HSUS). The organization was founded on this day in 1954 by journalists Fred Myers, Helen Johnson, Larry Andrews and Marcia Glaser, is now based in Washington and is considered one of the largest charitable organizations in America.

The purpose of the Humane Society’s activity is intertwined with the purpose of this day — to draw attention to the attitude of people to animals. Society often forgets and shows excessive cruelty to domestic animals, kills wild animals for meat and fur, uses them for research and experiments. This event is another good opportunity to show your humanity, love and care, stand up for our younger brothers, involve your loved ones and friends in a noble cause.
